Safety around light rail

Now that light rail operations are well underway, the Canberra Community is being encouraged to be mindful on and around the light rail corridor. Pedestrians, cyclists and motorists should be alert and pay attention when crossing the tracks and please pay attention to the traffic signals at all times. For more on light rail safety visit

Construction works continuing

After the Easter and ANZAC DAY breaks, construction will resume in pockets along the light rail corridor. These works will involve applying asphalt to remaining intersections, landscaping and some kerb, and footpath installation. There will be a requirement for lane, cycle path and road closures as well as night works during the final weeks of completion works. Updates will be provided on the Canberra Metro Construction website.
