Light Rail Stage 1 Resources

Canberra Metro builds and maintains the light rail network, but day-to-day operations, including passenger services, customer experience and on-the-ground safety, are run by Canberra Metro Operations (CMET) on behalf of Transport Canberra.

If you're catching the tram, walking past a stop, riding alongside the corridor or driving near the tracks, CMET's website is the best place to find practical, up-to-date safety advice and answers to common questions.

Safety information for everyone who uses the corridor

The CMET safety hub brings together everything you need to share the corridor confidently. It covers:

  • Tips for passengers boarding, riding and getting off light rail vehicles
  • Pedestrian guidance for crossing tracks at designated points
  • Advice for cyclists riding near the network
  • Reminders for motorists driving on, around or across the tracks
  • Accessibility information for customers with diverse needs
  • Downloadable brochures, school resources and a digital toolkit for community groups

Answers to common questions

CMET's FAQ page is the quickest way to get answers about timetables, fares, MyWay+, accessibility, lost property and what to do if something goes wrong on your journey.
