Members of the Canberra Metro Operations (CMET) team recently volunteered their time at Ronald McDonald House ACT and South East NSW as part of the Meals from the Heart program.
During the evening, the team prepared and served a simple, home-style dinner for families staying at the house. The menu included schnitzels and brownies, complete with cream, offering a small but meaningful moment of comfort for those going through a challenging time.
The Meals from the Heart program provides practical support to families who are often far from home while their children receive medical care. A freshly prepared meal helps ease daily pressures and creates a sense of normality, even if only for a short time.
Opportunities like this are valuable for the CMET team, allowing them to connect directly with the communities they serve. Ronald McDonald House Canberra plays an essential role in providing care, support and accommodation to families when they need it most.
CMET is proud to contribute in a small but meaningful way to this important work, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the local community beyond the delivery of infrastructure.
